Azure Data Factory is a Microsoft cloud service offered by the Azure platform that allows you to integrate data from many different sources. Azure Data Factory is a cloud-based ETL and data integration service that allows us to create data-driven pipelines to move and transform data at scale. Azure Data Factory is a managed cloud service built for these complex extract-transform-load (ETL), extract-load-transform (ELT), and data integration hybrid projects.

Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databrikcks are two such cloud services that manage this complex and disorganized data through extract, transform, load (ETL) and data integration processes to provide a better foundation for analysis. For example, Databrikcks is optimized for the Microsoft Azure cloud services platform (Azure Databricks), which offers SQL, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Machine Learning environments for developing data-intensive applications. The tight integration between Azure Databricks and other Microsoft Azure services allows customers to simplify and scale their data import pipelines. For example, customers often use ADF with Azure Databricks Delta Lake to enable SQL queries against their data lakes and build machine learning data pipelines.
For example, integration with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) provides consistent cloud identity and access management. Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) integration provides scalable and secure storage for big data analytics, while Azure Data Factory (ADF) lets you integrate hybrid data to simplify ETL at scale. Azure Data Factory (ADF), a fully managed service for building data storage, processing, and movement services in the form of a data pipeline, coordinates data movement and transformation using a no-code approach. The Azure Data Factory service allows users to integrate both on-premises data into Microsoft SQL Server and cloud data into Azure SQL Database, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Table Storage.
Using the Azure ETL tool, the user will define datasets, create pipelines to transform the data and map it to different destinations. Azure Data Factory is a data migration service from the Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform that helps Azure users create ETL pipelines for enterprise data. You can create complex ETL jobs that visually transform data using dataflows or compute services such as Azure HDInsight Hadoop, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database. As mentioned above, data factory entities (related services, datasets, and pipelines) are in JSON format, so you can use your favorite editor to create these files and then either copy them to the Azure portal (by selecting "Create and distribute") or continue in visual mode. Studio or put them in the correct folder path and run them with PowerShell.
Our team has extensive experience developing Integration Services (SSIS) packages, but new data warehouse projects will use many data sources in Azure, so Azure Data Factory is also on the table. Fully managed by Microsoft, ADF uses an Integration Runtime (IR) to manage data movement, a Spark cluster to map data flows, developer tools and APIs for optimal performance.
